"Twelve Electric Chairs, 1964/65 is a museum quality art print of an original work by American pop artist Andy Warhol.The Electric Chair was part of Andy Warhol’s ‘Death and Disaster’ series that the artist started in 1962, although a fascination with death permeates his work throughout his career. The image is based on a press photograph from 13 January 1953 of the death chamber at Sing Sing Prison in New York. Warhol then took the image and created a silkscreen which he then re printed again and again in a wide variety of colours.
