"3 Kittens By Bonnie and Clyde"
"Bonnie and Clyde has mastered the art of mixed media collage, blending photography with fine art until the lines of distinction disappear. At first glance, her brightly coloured brushstrokes - often depicting modernist architecture, expanses of sea, and palm-tree lined streets - are reminiscent of early Hockney. Closer inspection reveals the wealth of different techniques that Bonnie and Clyde has employed to unrivalled effect. ‘3 Kittens’ was first released at the artrepublic Art Yard Sale on Sunday 5th June 2016, in which some of the biggest names in the contemporary art world came together in Brighton’s Jubilee Square, giving fans the chance to buy from the artists directly. ‘3 Kittens’ showcases Bonnie and Clyde’s clever melding of photography with fine art. A first look suggests a boldly painted red house, with blue sky, concrete walkway and a poster showing three kittens. And then you notice the photographic elements. And the closer one looks, the harder it becomes to distinguish brush strokes from photography: has the gate been painted? What about the kittens? And has that cloud been pasted on or painted in? Yet this is not only a crafty, intelligent approach to art: Bonnie and Clyde has created her own, very distinct aesthetic which is bold, fearless and visually arresting."

"The Savage Garden #5 By Prefab77"
"Art collective Prefab77 take contemporary street art to new heights - literally. Their urban artworks to-date include awe-inspiring paste-ups in Newcastle and Brighton, each spanning the size of a three storey building. Their work relies on heavy texture, using collage techniques, thick application of gloss, and bounteous coatings of spray-paint, to create bold, busy and beautiful prints. ‘The Savage Garden #5’ depicts the photorealist profile of a woman, surrounded by a kaleidoscopic array of monochrome patterns, type, and graphics. Hints of colour pepper the print, from bright pink lipstick and piercing blue eyes, to scatterings of aerosol pigment and gentle washes of soft hue. It’s a piece that’s rich in texture and design: a triumph of contemporary street-to-canvas aesthetics."

"Doli Capax - Printers Proof #2 By Prefab77"
"Art collective Prefab77 take contemporary street art to new heights - literally. Their urban artworks to-date include awe-inspiring paste-ups in Newcastle and Brighton, each spanning the size of a three storey building. Their work relies on heavy texture, using collage techniques, thick application of gloss, and bounteous coatings of spray-paint, to create bold, busy and beautiful prints. ‘Doli Capax - Printers Proof #2’ is an experimental proof, created during the production of Prefab77’s sell-out original ‘Doli Capax'. A striking image, ‘Doli Capax - Printers Proof #2’ depicts a crowbar-wielding woman, comprised from an eccentric array of collage cuttings: her photorealist face peers out from a halo of kaleidoscopic patterns, which merge into a full-bodied, graphic dress of impressive proportion. Against a busy monochrome backdrop of lotus-flowers and lightning-bolts, softly hued with scatterings of spray-paint, the print is a compelling triumph of contemporary street-to-canvas aesthetics."

"Everything Happens… (Sunmaid Raisin box) By Antony 'H' Haylock"
"Antony ‘H’ Haylock knows how to have a little fun with art. His work centres around iconic, inanimate objects which, as he says, contain “the power to evoke an emotion, a memory, a visual time stamp.” H’s prints artfully blend high-impact compositional technique with tongue-in-cheek wit to produce an appealing aesthetic that combines pop-art themes and styles with fine art skills and a penchant for word play. ‘Everything Happens… (Sunmaid Raisin Box)’ reproduces the familiar, Sunmaid raisin box, big and bright in its palette of fire-engine red and sunshine-yellow. The piece is reminiscent of Warhol’s Campbell Soup can, but H doesn’t stop at basic image replication: drips of paint stream from base of the raisin box and the branding typography has been replaced with tongue-in-cheek word play, reading ‘Everything Happens For A Raisin’. Bold, brash and fun, the piece is beautifully executed to maximum impact."

"Camouflage, 1987 by Andy Warhol"
"Camouflage, 1987 is a museum quality art print featuring one of Andy Camouflage silkscreens. In the 1980’s Warhol produced a whole series of works inspired by camouflage patterns. He had his assistant go to the local New York army surplus store near Union Station to buy some camouflage fabric which was photographed and then used to make a variety of screens. Camouflage is used to disguise yet is so instantly recognisable by its pattern this probably appealed to Warhol and his love of Band’s and disguising himself. Warhol used bright pop colours at odds with the usual band colour of camouflage. Image Credit: ©/®/TM The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, Inc."

Here Elizabeth Taylor is set on a red background with red lips and blue eye shadow. Image Credit: ©/®/TM The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, Inc."

"Carnation, Lily, Lily, Rose by John Singer Sargent"
"This painting of two girls hanging Chinese lanterns in the early dusk amongst lily flowers and roses was inspired by a boat trip Sargent took on the Thames at Pangbourne. Seargent went on to complete his studies for the painting outside at dusk every night to get the light just right as the summer ended he has to replace the flowers with artificial ones. The two girls were Polly and Dorothy (Dolly) Barnard, the daughters of his friend the illustrator Frederick Barnard The title comes from the song 'The Wreath', by the eighteenth-century composer of operas Joseph Mazzinghi, which was popular in the 1880s. The refrain of the song asks the question 'Have you seen my Flora pass this way?' to which the answer is 'Carnation, Lily, Lily, Rose'."
