"Hoya 67mm Variable Density x3-400 Filter" |
"For both still photography and video use, the Hoya 67mm Variable Density x3-400 Filter makes it easy to adjust the brightness of a scene as well as gives more control over the exposure settings of your camera. By rotating the inner filter ring, the filter decreases light transmittance between approximately 1/3 and 1/400th of its original level. This permits aperture values to be set dependant on the desired effect and allows a much greater range of shutter speed. For example, in full sunlight crowds of people or water can be blurred using a long shutter speed. Depending on the situation the practical exposure range and light transmittance will vary. Main Features Include: • Filter Factor NDx3-NDx400 • Approx. 1.5 to 8.5 stops light reduction. • Black Almite Frame with satin finish to reduce reflections. • Low Profile Frame – avoids vignetting on super wide-angle lenses, will accept a clip-cap. • Rotating inner filter ring with scale indicating max. through to min. settings The Hoya Variable Neutral Density Filter provides a convenient way to maintain exposure control by being able to vary the amount of light entering the camera by 1.5 to 9 stops (0.45 to 2.7 density for Cine use). The precision built-in double ring design allows the outer ring rotates to control amount of neutral density effect anywhere within the 1.5 – 9 stop range. This double-ring design is also thin to reduce the likelihood of vignetting with wide-angle lenses. This control allows for many special effects such as being able to control depth of field by using a wider aperture or create or control motion blur by being able to choose just the right slower shutter speeds for perfect blurring. The HOYA Variable Neutral Density filter can take the place of a range of graded ND filters which saves money by only needing to buy one filter and saves time on location or on set by not needing to change filters constantly to change the effect, just turn the right to get the effect you want. The HOYA Variable Neutral Density filter puts you in control. This is an especially useful tool when creating motion blur in moving water such as waterfalls, rivers and crashing waves. Other examples of good times to use very slow shutter speeds to create blur are; moving vehicles, trains, cars and congested city traffic; blurred panning effects where the subject, a runner, bicyclist or car is clear but the background around it is blurred from the camera following its movement Variable Neutral Density filters, and ND filters in general have these main uses: • Slow down shutter speed for motion blurring effects like waterfalls, cars or blurred panning movement to make the subject stand out from the background. • Allow wider apertures to be used to decrease depth-of-field, literally focusing more attention on the subject. • Allow higher ISO films to be used in brighter lighting conditions • Allow cine/video cameras, which have a fixed shutter-speed range, to film on brighter lighting conditions such as the beach or in snow on a sunny day. The Hoya Variable Density filter uses high-quality optical glass from Hoya Corporation, the world’s largest optical glass manufacturer and is available in sizes 52mm to 82mm. For best results Hoya recommends using a tripod when photographing with slow shutter speeds. Notes: The practical exposure range and light transmittance will vary depending on the situation. When using the filter near or at MIN a cross-like dark pattern will appear across the image and cannot be eliminated. This is a property of the filter and all variable ND filters Variable 0.45-2.7 Neutral Density Filter Reduce Exposure by 1.5-9 Stops Darkens Entire Image Greater Control Over Exposure Settings Allows Wider Aperture This filter has been produced to fit all lenses with a 67mm thread size. Check the end of your lens to verify the required size."

"Hoya 58mm Linear Polarising Filter" |
"Light rays that are reflected by any surface become polarised and polarising filters are used to select which light rays enter your camera lens. The filter factor is between 2.3 and 2.8 (approx. +1.3 stops), this varies in accordance to how the filter is orientated to the sun or rotated. Both the PL (Linear Polarising) and PL-CIR (Circular Polarising) filters have the same effect, however it is important that the correct version is chosen for your camera. The Hoya 58mm Linear Polariser Filter allows you to remove unwanted reflections and glare from non-metallic surfaces such as water, glass etc. It also enables better contrast by allowing colours to become more saturated and appear clearer. This effect is often used to increase the contrast and saturation in blue skies and white clouds. HOYA's polarising filters do not affect the overall colour balance of a shot. How to select the correct Polarising filter: Cameras today use semi-silvered mirrors or prisms to split the light entering the viewfinder enabling it to calculate exposure and focusing distance. To give unpredictable exposure or focusing PL (Linear Polarising) filters can sometimes interact with these items. Unless you have a manual focus camera that has no beam splitter it is recommend that you choose a PL-CIR filter. PLEASE NOTE: • All auto-focus SLR and certain manual focus SLR cameras require circular polarizers. Consult your instruction manual. • This is a linear polariser. Not suitable for Auto Focus cameras. For these you require a circular polariser. Designed to adjust brightly reflected light especially sunlight and reduce unwanted glare Creates dramatic sky/cloud contrast and saturates colours without changing colour balance Mount rotates to control amount of effect Coatings applied to both surfaces to suppress reflection and increase light transmission For use with manual focus cameras and lenses This filter has been produced to fit all lenses with a 58mm thread size. Check the end of your lens to verify the required size."

The Hoya PROND series is aimed at the still photography and HDSLR video markets. The series provides 9 filters from two stop to 10 stop light reduction. The Metallic ACCU-ND coating on the PROND filters do not colour shift as you move from one density to the next, a common problem with other series of neutral density filters. Now you can set your white balance once and have the same colour balance even if you need to change filters due to changes in lighting, or for creative effect. The PROND filters use Hoya’s exclusive clear optical glass that has a metallic ACCU-ND coating front and back to create the neutral density affect. Neutral density filters are designed to reduce the amount of light entering your camera lens and should not have any other effect on the image. Reducing the amount of light allows for the use of wider apertures or slower shutter speeds for creative and dramatic effect in bright lighting conditions. The HOYA PROND 1000 is an extremely dark neutral density filter with a filter factor 1000. This filter factor converts to a 10 stops reduction on the amount of light entering the lens. With this extreme filter motion is greatly blurred or depending on the speed some moving subjects will disappear altogether. With a ND filter as strong as the PROND 1000 shutter speeds as slow as 16 seconds or more are possible in daylight. Features Include: • 3.0 ND filter darkens the image, allowing you to photograph with a longer shutter speed or wider aperture than normally required. • To convey movement and control depth of field more easily this filter provides a 10-stop reduction. • Using metallic ACCU-ND coating guarantees colour accuracy and consistency between different Pro ND filter grades. • Prevents filter jamming by using one-piece aluminium ring, which enhances durability and rigidity for assured use. • For continuous image clarity this filter is made from clear optical glass. 10-Stop Neutral Density Filter 3.0 Solid Optical Density Permits Increased Exposure Length Metallic ACCU-ND Coating Clear Optical Glass Construction This filter has been produced to fit all lenses with a 55mm thread size. Check the end of your lens to verify the required size."

"Hoya 46mm Linear Polarising Filter" |
"Light rays which are reflected by any surface become polarised and polarising filters are used to select which light rays enter your camara lens. PL (Linear Polarising) and PL-CIR (Circular Polarising) filters have the same effect, but it is important that you choose the correct version for your camera. They allows you to remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water, glass etc. They also enable colors to become more saturated and appear clearer, with better contrast. This effect is often used to increase the contrast and saturation in blue skies and white clouds. HOYA's polarising filters do not affect the overall color balance of a shot. How to select the correct Polarising filter: Many of today's cameras use semi-silvered mirrors or prisms to split the light entering the viewfinder in order to calculate exposure and focusing distance. PL (Linear Polarising) filters can sometimes interact with these items to give unpredictable exposure or focusing. So we recommend that you choose a PL-CIR filter unless you have a manual focus camera which has no beam splitter. Designed to adjust brightly reflected light especially sunlight and reduce unwanted glare Creates dramatic sky/cloud contrast and saturates colours without changing colour balance Mount rotates to control amount of effect Coatings applied to both surfaces to suppress reflection and increase light transmission For use with manual focus cameras and lenses This filter has been designed to fit all lenses with a 46mm thread size. Check the end of your lens or inside your lens cap for lens diameter."

"Hoya 49mm Linear Polarising Filter" |
"Light rays that are reflected by any surface become polarised and polarising filters are used to select which light rays enter your camera lens. The filter factor is between 2.3 and 2.8 (approx. +1.3 stops), this varies in accordance to how the filter is orientated to the sun or rotated. Both the PL (Linear Polarising) and PL-CIR (Circular Polarising) filters have the same effect, however it is important that the correct version is chosen for your camera. The Hoya 49mm Linear Polariser Filter allows you to remove unwanted reflections and glare from non-metallic surfaces such as water, glass etc. Designed to adjust brightly reflected light especially sunlight and reduce unwanted glare Creates dramatic sky/cloud contrast and saturates colours without changing colour balance Mount rotates to control amount of effect Coatings applied to both surfaces to suppress reflection and increase light transmission For use with manual focus cameras and lenses This filter has been produced to fit all lenses with a 49mm thread size. "Hoya 52mm UV & IR Cut Filter" |
"The Hoya 52mm UV and IR Cut Filter allows only the visible spectrum of light rays to enter the camera and get captured by the sensor. It does this when the lens filter is attached to your lens. Both higher frequency ultraviolet rays and lower frequency infrared light rays are blocked out by using the UV and IR Cut Filter. the CCD and CMOS sensors found in our cameras are extremely susceptible to catching UV and IR rays, there just outside the visible spectrum and have a very negative impact on image quality. This filter is used on a digital camera and the video, which do not have an IR protection filter toward an image sensor or were remodelled. This is important because unfiltered CCD and CMOS sensors are extremely susceptible to UV and IR rays just outside the visible spectrum that can have a very negative impact on image quality. The Hoya UV & IR light transmission curve shows the sharp-cut nature of the filter glass and coatings as well as the consistent light transmission in the visible spectrum. This curve demonstrates a more even visible light transmission than the closest competitor. This means that sharper images with more depth and finer, richer colour gradations are possible with the Hoya UV & IR Cut filter. The effect of the filter is achieved mainly though the multi-layer coatings on the surface of the filter. Hoya begins with crystal clear, colourless optical glass and then bonds coating to this filter that block both UV and IR light rays outside of the range mentioned. There is light incidence angle dependence in the transmission factor because over layer is thick, so this filter doesn't suit use by a wide-angle lens. It is suitable for heavenly body photography. Key Features: • Produces better accuracy of colour in digital images than found in most traditional IR filters, when using colour CCD or CMOS camera sensors that are particularly susceptible to UV and IR rays. • Only cuts through those light rays that fall within the visible spectrum of light, this filter blocks both ultraviolet rays found below 390 nm, as well as infrared rays above 700 nm • This combination filter cuts through atmospheric haze to a greater degree than otherwise found. • Compatible with stackable standard filters for a better combination of effects. • Provides support with low-profile and a rigid aluminium filter ring. An Important Note Regarding Wide-Angle Lenses: Increasing the angle of incidence, meaning light rays entering the filter from an extreme angle as is the case with super-wide and ultra-wide angle lenses, leads to an increasing colour shift as the angle increases. This is based on the physics of light and the nature of the coatings. All UV-IR cut filters have the same properties in this regard. It is not recommended this filter be used with lenses having a field of view greater than 60 degrees. Please Note: The UV-IR CUT filter is intended for use with digital SLR cameras and cine cameras that do NOT have an IR filter installed in front of the sensor. Colour balance effects can occur when this filter is used with cameras that have an IR filter installed in front of the sensor. Please consult your camera's owner’s manual before use. Available in sizes 49mm through 82mm. Cuts Out UV Rays Below 390 nm Cuts Out IR Rays Above 700 mn Retains Visible Light Spectrum Reduce Effects of Atmospheric Haze Clearer and Sharper Pictures Outdoors This filter has been designed to fit all lenses with a 52mm thread size.
