"Pink Cosmos Stem" |
"English wildflowers tend to be small and dainty. Beautifully coloured, certainly, but not very big. In America things are different. The cosmos, which grows on scrub and meadowland in the southern states, is bigger and bolder. But still beautiful, which is why it's such an excellent stem to add to your mixed arrangements. And in the best spirit of the 'special relationship', it blends happily with flowers from this side of the pond."

"Pink Maple Bonsai" |
"Proving very popular today, our pink leaf maple bonsai would also have been a big hit 100 years ago. That was when the European craze for Japanese arts and crafts began and it's a fascination that has never waned. Delicately coloured and exquisitely formed, this newest addition to our bonsai range illustrates that small is beautiful and desirable too."

"Plum Bonsai" |
"Japan has a tradition of gardening and garden design that dates back centuries. Inextricably linked to spiritual and philosophical beliefs, this tradition attaches great importance to a sense of natural harmony - whether on a large or (in the case of this bonsai) a small scale. Exquisitely handcrafted and beautifully detailed - from the coloration of the leaves to the subtle texture of the bark - it's so realistic your friends will think you spent a fortune on the real thing. Will you reveal the secret, or let them believe what is only a small fib after all?"

"Quaking Grass Stem" |
"It shimmers and shivers and shakes in the slightest breeze, which is why Briza maxima is usually known by its less formal name - quaking grass. And although it originated around the Mediterranean, it's become so popular as to now seem quintessentially English. Delicately graceful, its elegant slender stems are hung with pale green panicles that reflect the sunlight like raindrops after a summer shower. Wonderfully versatile, our quaking grass stems are particularly suitable for darker parts of a room or in a church - wherever a single shaft of sunlight will make the panicles sparkle like diamonds."

"Single Petite Phalaenopsis Orchid" |
"Dainty, delicate and demure is how she seems; and far too pure and innocent to survive in this big, bad, wicked world. But look a little closer at our petite phalaenopsis - there's a feistiness behind the frailty, a knowingness beneath the naivete. This is an ingenue who's not quite as innocent as she'd like you to think. Oh she's not a femme fatale... yet. But give her time and experience. In the meantime, handle with care."

"Small Olive and Hydrangea Arrangement" |
"One of the pleasures of floral artistry is discovering excitingly different combinations of flowers and foliage. There couldn't be a better example than this accent piece. By combining the sombre, elegant gravitas of the olive leaves with the hydrangea's joyful, vivacious colour and form, we've created a combination that's daringly different and decidedly delightful. Perfect for adding a stylish touch of panache to a whole host of wintertime arrangements - just try it and see for yourself."

"Tang Horse" |
"China became a super-power almost 1,400 years ago. In 618AD the Tang dynasty was founded and for almost three centuries it fostered a remarkable flowering of the arts (ceramics in particular), science and technology. The first printing press was made and screen printing was developed. The silk trade flourished and for a while the Tang capital Chang'an was the largest city in the world. Today this period is best known for producing exquisite porcelain tableware and figurines. Most examples are in museums and the few that are in private collections change hands for fabulous sums of money. Thankfully that's not the case with our faithfully modelled replica. In polyresin which is practically unbreakable rather than fragile porcelain, it's been painstakingly recreated from an original to capture something of the majesty and mystique of an astonishing civilisation."

"Tulip Fever Bud Stem" |
"Something very strange happened in Holland a little under 400 years ago. Certain tulip bulbs started to produce striped flowers, a condition which we now know was caused by a virus. However the effect on Dutch flower fanciers was astonishing. Tulip bulbs were bought and sold for what quickly became astronomical prices. Fortunes were gambled, won and lost as the nation succumbed to 'Tulip Fever'. Actually, 'Tulip Madness' might have been a better description, as one bulb - a Tulip 'Semper Augustus' - is said to have changed hands for 5,000 florins, plus a new coach and two horses! What that represents in today's money is difficult to ascertain, but we'd probably be talking several hundred thousand pounds. Happily our tulip bud stem is appreciably more affordable... and more durable. 'Tulip Fever' lasted less than seven years; our tulip bud stem will be giving you pleasure for a great deal longer."

"Tulip Fever Open Stem" |
"Orchids, roses, dahlias all have their fair share of enthusiasts - as do many other plants. But tulips are in a class of their own, or rather they were - in 17th century Holland. It was discovered that certain tulip bulbs produced striped flowers, and especially striking examples could and did command outrageous prices. In the early 1630s speculation in such bulbs was rife and fortunes were gambled, won and lost as 'Tulip Fever' took on epidemic proportions One bulb of the tulip 'Semper Augustus' is said to have sold for the astonishingly large sum of 5,000 florins plus a new coach and pair of horses! Happily our tulip stem is appreciably more affordable... and more durable. 'Tulip Fever' lasted less than seven years; our tulip stem will be still giving pleasure for a great deal longer."

"White Agapanthus Stem" |
"Agapanthus originated in southern Africa and most varieties reflect the clear sunny skies of the region. Indeed many people think of agapanthus flowers in varying shades of blue - which makes 'Snowy Owl' (as this particular white variety is called) something of a rarity. Gracefully suspended on an elegant, slender stem, the cluster of trumpet-shaped flowers have a delicacy and purity that is enchantingly attractive. Casually bunched together in a tall, slim vase, or added in twos or threes to a mixed summer arrangement, they look simply stunning."

"White Chrysanthemum" |
"Easy to recognise, thanks to its pom-pom flowerhead, this particular chrysanthemum isn't what it claims to be. You see the word chrysanthemum comes from the Greek 'khrysanthemon' which means literally 'gold flower'. The name was first given to what we call the corn marigold which is considered to be a chrysanthemum. Never mind 'a rose by any other name' - in this case it's a 'gold flower' that's actually white. But that's the thing about Bloom stems - they so often full of delightful surprises."

"White Cow Parsley" |
"You can still find them occasionally: old-fashioned meadows, hidden by woods, that time seems to have forgotten. They're the sort of places where rare wildflowers still thrive, together with buttercups, clover and of course cow parsley, like the stem featured here. Perfect for bringing a touch of traditional rural charm to a whole variety of mixed arrangements, it's very 'Tess of the D'Urbervilles' and 'Far from the Madding Crowd'."

"White Dahlia Stem" |
"They're a firm favourite with British flower lovers, but dahlias also have an international appeal. Which isn't too surprising. After all, they probably originated in Mexico, were discovered by early Spanish settlers and named after a Swedish botanist (Andreas Dahl). In other words, there's more to a dahlia than meets the eye. But - when you think about it - that's something that could be said about all Bloom flowers"

Enchanting as a single stem, heavenly as a bouquet and a wonderful way to add innocent prettiness to your mixed summer arrangements."

"White Peony Bud Stem" |
"I can't believe they aren't real... This is most people's reaction when they first see a Bloom arrangement. And that's very gratifying because a great deal of time and effort goes into the creation of our handmade flowers. Realism and botanical authenticity are the hallmarks of Bloom blooms. That's why we make flowers as buds as well as in a fully open state. It's one of the important details that will contribute to making your bouquets, arrangements and displays beautifully lifelike - a classic example of art imitating nature."

"White Rose Stem" |
"The rose is not only England's national flower, it's also the nation's favourite. Which is why from around 150 species, many thousands of cultivars and varieties have been produced, with more being registered every year. In one authoritative botanical encyclopaedia, most plants are allocated half a page or so. Roses, by contrast, have a staggering twenty-six pages devoted to them - with cultivars and varieties ranging from R. 'Abbeyfield Rose' to R. 'Zigeunerknabe' (I wonder how many people ask for that one by name?) Fortunately it's much easier to pronounce this delightful example of our national flower. It's called quite simply - a white rose stem."

"4ft and 5ft Potted Bamboo Tree Bundle" |
"These realistic and charming potted bamboo plants will add Eastern promise to your home In the Far East there's a legend that bamboos were grasses that aspired to become trees. Ideal for adding vertical interest wherever floor space is limited and creating a calming, peaceful ambiance."
