"Riding the DCR Coal Train - York to Butterwell (DVD)"
"A cab ride on board 56312, featuring the entire 102-mile journey. The East Coast Mainline north from York may not be the most exciting railway, it’s mostly flat, 4-track then 2-track and there’s not a great deal to see! That image changes somewhat when you add a Class 56, hauling a heavy coal train, running at speed, passing Darlington, Durham and Newcastle and onto the single-track Butterwell branch and then further along the line to Potland Burn and the coal-loading facility. This is a cab ride on board 56312, filmed on a fine sunny day in August 2013, featuring the entire 102 mile journey. Departing from York Holgate sidings, we take the station avoider and run alongside various Class 91s, HSTs and other freight trains to Butterwell Junction and onto the freight-only line to Potland Burn. As well as the journey itself, the run-round move at Potland Burn is featured, plus coal loading and loco refuelling. A special thrash cam in the back cab of the 56 records the loco hard at work. Includes maps, part narration and on-screen captions."

"Riding the South West Log Train Part 1 (DVD)"
"The programme opens with the loading and preparation of the train at the Teigngrace site on the former Heathfield branch, before setting off on the first part of the journey. Starting in 2007 with an occasional train of loaded logs between Carlisle and Chirk, Colas Rail now operate a number of timber trains serving the sustainable forests at Baglan Bay in South Wales and Teigngrace in Devon. From both these locations, loaded trains run to the wood manufacturing plant at Kronospan at Chirk, in North Wales and this is part one of a cab ride on the Teigngrace to Chirk train. The programme begins with the loading and preparation of the train at the Teigngrace site on the former Heathfield branch. Running as 6Z53, with 66846 in charge, the train departs along the single line branch to Newton Abbot station. At Newton Abbot the loco runs around the wagons and the main journey begins, passing along the sea wall at Teignmouth and Dawlish, forward on the Great Western Main line to Exeter and Bristol and then east through the Severn Tunnel and to Severn Tunnel Junction station, where the first part of this journey ends. The view from the front cab is supplemented by a special ‘thrash’ cam in the back cab, recording the loco hard at work. "Ripping Yarns - The Complete Series [1976](DVD)"
"Following the phenomenal success of Monty Python's Flying Circus, Michael Palin and Terry Jones created this unforgettable, BAFTA-winning series of comic plays for the BBC. Gleefully parodying the conventions of Boy's Own-style adventure, Ripping Yarns sees Palin taking the protagonist's role in nine rip-roaring stories from stirring tales of sporting endeavour, intrepid exploration and wartime heroism to skulduggery, supernatural mystery and murder... and, of course, the notorious exploits of Eric Olthwaite - Yorkshire's most interesting outlaw. An illustrious supporting cast includes John Le Mesurier, Iain Cuthbertson, Denholm Elliott, Joan Sanderson and Don Henderson, with Terry Jones starring in one episode and fellow former Python John Cleese also making a cameo appearance; the series was produced and directed by the multi award-winning team of Terry Hughes (The Two Ronnies), Jim Franklin (The Goodies) and Alan J.W. Bell (The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy). Both series, originally aired between 1976 and 1979, are released in this special-edition set, with special features including deleted scenes, a 1983 documentary, Comic Roots, in which Palin revisits his native Sheffield, and Secrets, the only surviving recording of Palin and Jones 1973 screenplay for the BBC's darkly comic (now sadly wiped) Black and Blue anthology series.
