"CHiPs: Complete Season 1 [2007] (DVD)"
"CHiPS, which stands for California Highway Patrols, first aired in the 1970s and became a massive ratings success, combining action, melodrama and comedy in the daily lives of two state motorcycle officers patrolling the freeway system in sun-drenched Los Angeles. Officer Jon Baker (played by Larry Wilcox) is the straight-laced, serious character while Frank ""Ponch"" Poncherello (played by cheesy yet loveable Erik Estrada) is the more free-wheeling member of the duo. Throughout the show's run, episodes ranged from the humorous (such as helping a stranded motorist) to the tragic (a multi-car pile-up with multiple deaths) to the downright bizarre (using a circus elephant to tow a broken-down truck!). Other aspects of Ponch and Jon's daily lives weave through the series, with the social activity of both officers (they're single) providing many lighter moments. And on occasion, Ponch and Jon are assisted by a female ""Chippie"", initially played by the beautiful Sindy Cahill. For the first time all 22 episodes from the first season of CHiPS are released together on DVD, with six discs in the collection and bonus extras, including the original pilot episode and extended opening sequence/music. Synopsis Where the rubber meets the road and the bad guys meet the badge -- that's where you'll find California Highway Patrol motorcycle officers Jon (Larry Wilcox) and Ponch (Erik Estrada). Set in the sun-drenched sprawl of Los Angeles, CHiPs combines action, heroics and fun in 22 Season One episodes whose event-packed storylines range from freeway gridlock (let's use a circus elephant to tow that broken-axled truck!) to wild roadway pursuits (who's that beautiful woman lead-footing a Rolls Royce?), from spilled onions (crying time, fellas) to pure venom (an overturned van loaded with...sssnakes!). Attention all units: Report now for arresting entertainment! Running Time: 1013 minutes Region: Region 2 Subtitles: English|French|Italian|Dutch Release Date:20 Aug. 2007"

"COI Collection Vol 7: The Queen on Tour (DVD)"
"COI Collection Volume 7: The Queen on Tour (2 disc DVD set) Volume Seven of the COI Collection, The Queen on Tour, celebrates the diamond jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. As Whitehall's publicity agency, the COI - with unprecedented access to the royals - was the natural choice to produce offical records of royal tours and state visits. In addition, it commissioned and supervised a variety of retrospectives on the Queen and her family. Queen Elizabeth II came to the throne during a time of unparalleled change, both at home and abroad. Yet, despite the turbulent backdrop against which many royal tours and state visits were filmed, the onscreen images here maintain a diplomatic serenity; it was, and still is, the Queen's (and the COI's) job to cultivate strong relationships in a post-colonial world.Highlights of the collection include: Royal Destiny (1953), a look at the Queen's early life, made in the year of her coronation; The Queen's State Visit to Iran (1961), a fascinating film of the royal visit to Iran eight years after a British and American-backed coup installed the Shah; Sierra Leone Greets the Queen (1962), a colourful record of the Queen's visit in the year of independence; Britain Welcomes the Emperor and Empress of Japan (1971), marking the controversial state visit from Emperor Hirohito and his wifeSpecial Features Fully illustrated booklet featuring comprehensive contextualising notes and essays from academics and film historians Dolby Digital mono audio (320kbps) Disc 1 Royal Destiny (1953) Southward with Prince Philip (1957)Princess Margaret in Mauritius and East Africa (1957) Life of a Queen (1960)The Queen's State Visit to Iran (1961)Royal Children (1961)Queen Elizabeth II in Pakistan (1961)Disc 2 Sierra Leone Greets the Queen (1961)Britain Welcomes the President of India (1963) The Royal Tour of the Caribbean (1966)Britain Welcomes the President of Pakistan (1966)A state Visit to Turkey by Queen Elizabeth II (1971)Britain Welcomes the Emperoe and Empress of Japan (1971) UK / 1953-1971 / black and white and colour / English language, with optional hard-of-hearing subtitles / DVD-9 x 2 / Original aspect ratio 1.33:1 Running Time: 234 minutes Region: All Regions Release Date: 28/05/2012"

"Cadfael - The Complete Collection (DVD)"
"All thirteen episodes of the drama series starring Derek Jacobi as the medieval sleuth. In the opening episode 'One Corpse Too Many', Cadfael, once a man of the world, has become a man of the cloth. However, this by no means qualifies him as a saint. He discovers a murder, and sets out in pursuit of the perpertrator, assisted by a lovely young fugitive. 'the Sanctuary Sparrow' sees Brother Cadfael investigating the murder of the local goldsmith. In 'the Leper of St Giles' a great wedding is to take place in the Abbey of Shrewsbury between Baron Huon (Norman Eshley) and Iveta De Massard (Tara Fitzgerald). Iveta is a beautiful, kind soul and on the day she and her betrothed ride into the town she throws money to the lepers, but her brutish Baron beats them. On the eve of the wedding he rides off into the night never to return. Cadfael sets out to find out what is going on. In 'Monk's Hood', a landowner cuts his son-in-law out of his will, leaving his inheritance to the church. However, before the transaction is finished, Gervase Gurney (Bernard Gallagher) is poisoned whilst staying at the Abbey of Shrewsbury. Cadfael finds someone from his past as he looks into the poisoning. In 'the Virgin in the Ice' Cadfael has to prove the innocence of his novice, Oswin (Mark Charnock), who is accused of murdering a nun after he is found wandering deliriously. In 'the Devil's Novice', Cadfael is suspicious when a young man, Meriet (Christien Anholt), arrives at Shrewsbury Abbey wishing to become a Novice. Canon Eluard (Ian McNeice) shares Cadfael's doubts as to Meriet's intentions, and when the half-burned body of a colleague is discovered, Meriet is accused of murder. In 'A Morbid Taste For Bones', Cadfael reluctantly accompanies an expedition to dig up the grave of St Winifred, after one of the Shrewsbury monks has a vision. He soon finds himself investigating a murder, when Lord Rhysart (John Hallam) is found dead on a forest track with an arrow in his chest. Robert (Michael Culver) believes the culprit to be Godwin, who was having an affair with Rhysart's daughter, Sioned (Anna Friel). However, Cadfael has other ideas. In 'the Rose Rent', the recently-widowed of a rich merchant becomes an attraction for the men of Shrewsbury, until one of her suitors and a monk are murdered. In 'St Peter's Fair', conflict arises between the townspeople of Shrewsbury and visitors to the annual fair. In 'the Raven in the Foregate', Cadfael has a double murder to solve when a pregnant girl and a priest who refused to hear her confession are both killed. In 'the Holy Thief', Cadfael is on the hunt for a beautiful slave girl and the bones of St Winifred, both of which have mysteriously disappeared from the Abbey. In 'the Potter's Field', Cadfael uncovers a terrible web of jealousy, adultery and suicide pacts when he examines the past of a potter who has entered the monastery under suspicious circumstances. Finally, in 'the Pilgrim of Hate', an old man's corpse is found in a sack in the Abbey, and Cadfael must find his killer. Ten years on, David Callan hasn t changed much. Retirement has brought a new identity, a new mistress, and a new business in the form of a militaria shop; but he finds that once a secret-service operative, always a secret-service operative when a call summons him to headquarters and a meeting with the fourth Hunter of his career - a past Callan thought dead and buried.
