'The Outcast' finds Riker falling in love with a member of an androgynous race whose laws forbid inter-gender relationships. In 'Cause and Effect' the ship and crew become trapped in a time-warp that repeats their destruction over and over again. 'The First Duty' sees Wesley become involved in the cover-up of an accident at the academy. 'Cost of Living' has Troi's mother return to the Enterprise and dispense her liberal views to the impressionable Alexander, much to the horror of Troi and Worf. 'The Perfect Mate' finds Picard falling in love with a woman who has been sent as a peace offering to another planet. In 'Imaginary Friend' a lonely girl's imaginary friend takes on solid form and starts to misbehave. 'I, Borg' has the crew discover a young Borg and decide to use him in a bid to destroy the Borg consciousness. 'The Next Phase' finds Geordi and Ro mistakenly pronounced dead when they are rendered invisible as part of a Romulan experiment. 'The Inner Light' sees Picard fall into a deep sleep where he lives out another man's life. Finally, in 'Time's Arrow', Data's head is discovered in San Francisco, and there is proof that it has been there since the 19th Century.<br/><br/>"

In 'Inheritance' Data meets a woman who was once married to his creator and is therefore his mother. The rest of the crew urge Data to get to know her and, as he does, he begins to realise that she is hiding something from him. 'Parallels' finds Worf shifting into multiple parallel universes. 'The Pegasus' has the Enterprise joined by one of Riker's old commanding officers, Admiral Pressman, who urges Picard to embark on a hunt for a missing Star Fleet vessel before it falls into Romulan hands. Bashir sets about a treatment to free her from the chair. In 'Rules of Acquisition' a female Ferengi puts Quark in a difficult situation when she falls in love with him. In 'Necessary Evil' an attack on Quark's life reminds Odo of the first crime he investigated on DS9, and threatens to break the bond that he has built up with Kira. In 'Second Sight', Sisko falls in love with a mysterious woman who turns out to be a telepathic projection. In 'Sanctuary', Kira helps a group of aliens from the Gamma Quadrant, who then lay claim to Bajor, saying it is their traditional homeland. In 'Rivals', Quark feels threatened when a swindler opens a rival business on the Promenade. In 'The Alternate', Odo is offered the chance to discover more about his origins by Doctor Mora Pol. In 'The Maquis: Part 1', it becomes apparent that there is terrorist activity in the Cardassian demilitarised zone, so Sisko and Gul Dukat form an uneasy alliance to find out the truth. In the concluding episode of a two-part story, 'The Maquis: Part II', Sisko must go in search of the kidnapped Gul Dukat and face the renegade Starfleet officer, Hudson. This show is Deep Space Nine's contribution to the 30th Anniversary celebrations, and features similar special effects as were used in 'Forrest Gump' to put the space station crew in the same scenes as the original cast. To make matters worse for Worf, whose temper is at breaking point, he becomes involved with a group who are planning to destroy Risa. In 'In Purgatory's Shadow', stardate 50560.1, an SOS message from the Gamma Quadrant leads Garak and Worf on a reconnaissance mission in Dominion space. At the same time, Alpha Quadrant politics are thrown into turmoil and the station faces a nerve-wracking future, with a Changeling threat and the possibility of an attack by the massed fleets of the Jem'Hadar. In 'By Inferno's Light', the concluding part of the two part story, the crew of DS9 watch helplessly as their plan to stop the invading Jem'Hadar ships by collapsing the wormhole is thwarted. In 'Business as Usual', stardate 50675.5, Quark worries that he may lose his bar until his arms-dealing cousin offers him a way out. However, this means losing his friends and sacrificing his conscience. In 'Ties of Blood and Wine', stardate 50689.7, Kira receives a visitor aboard the station - the leader of the old Cardassian resistance group. Her happiness is shattered when she discovers that not only is he suffering from an incurable disease, he is also not the heroic figure that she always believed him to be. In 'Ferengi Love Songs', stardate 50701.2, Quark leaves the station and travels to his homeworld when his bar is shut down. Seeking solace from his mother, he discovers that she is more interested in the Grand Nagus. In 'Soldiers of the Empire', Worf is asked to become First Officer on a Klingon Bird of Prey. When he arrives he finds the crew dispirited and treasonous and realises that the only way to restore order is to kill the captain - one General Martok. In 'Children of Time', the crew of the Defiant discover a planet inhabited by their direct descendants. It seems that an old temporal accident has caused the incident, and the crew have to decide whether to mend the temporal rift and wipe out their descendants or relive the accident, leaving themselves stranded 200 years in the past. There must be some other way, captain. In 'Blaze of Glory', Sisko has to ally himself with his old nemesis Michael Eddington to stop a Maquis plan from starting all out war with the Dominion and the Cardassians. The problem is that Eddington is more intent on taking revenge on the man who put him behind bars. In 'Empok Nor', O'Brien, Garak, Cadet Nog and a team of three engineers travel to DS9's abandoned sister station to salvage parts. Their arrival reactivates a Cardassian hit squad who have had a xenophobic hatred instilled in them. One by one the Starfleet crew are eliminated as a deadly game of cat and mouse begins. In 'In the Cards', the Dominion attempt to sign a treaty with Bajor that will upset the power balance in the Alpha Quadrant. Meanwhile Jake and Nog become involved with an unscrupulous scientist. In the cliff-hanging season finale, 'Call to Arms', Sisko decides to mine the entrance to the wormhole to stem the build-up of Jem'Hadar troops in Cardassian space. 'Return to Grace' has Gul Dukat encounter his old enemy Major Kira when he begins work as a freighter captain. 'Sons of Mogh' sees Worf's brother Kurn decide to commit suicide in order to avoid Klingon dishonour. 'Bar Association' finds Quark's brother Rom driven over the edge by his brother's insensitivity. Rom is determined to break with all Ferengi law and form a trade union, which brings the Ferengi Commerce Authority down on him who will stop at nothing to destroy the union. In 'Accession' an ancient Bajoran light-ship emerges from the wormhole carrying a passenger who believes that he must be the Emissary. 'Rules of Engagement' has Commander Worf face extradition to the Klingon Empire after destroying a civilian Klingon vessel, killing all on board. 'Hard Times' sees Chief O'Brien sentenced to twenty years imprisonment when he breaks an alien law. The punishment is administered by memory implants over a few hours, but the effects last much longer. 'Shattered Mirror' finds Jake lured into the mirror universe to help the Terrans who now have power over the evil alliance. 'The Muse' has Lwaxana Troi seek refuge from her husband on DS9, while Jake comes up with his best piece of writing thanks to the alien Onaya. 'For the Cause' sees the Federation decide to help the stricken Cardassians as they attempt to recover from the Klingon onslaught. 'To the Death' finds Sisko leading the Defiant into the Gamma Quadrant after rogue Jem'Hadar warriors attack the station. He soon finds that he needs to team up with another group of the fearsome warriors to save the galaxy. 'The Quickening' has Dax and Doctor Bashir discover a planet where the entire population are fated with premature deaths. The idealistic doctor decides he must find a cure, and is surprised when his efforts meet with resistance. 'Body Parts' sees Quark puts his remains up for sale when he discovers that he is dying. Meanwhile, Keiko is involved in an accident and has to have her unborn child beamed into Major Kira's body. Finally, in 'Broken Link', Odo finds himself suffering from a strange illness, forcing him to return to his home planet to seek a cure.
