"Olympic Velodrome By Paul Cleden"
"The inspiration behind this print was the cyclists at the Velodrome, during the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Using a pallet of blue greys and yellows the geometric shapes capture the moments and dynamism of the two cyclists in pursuit of one another as well as pursuit of Olympic gold. Cleden was deeply inspired by the form and movement of the cyclists at the Velodrome, Olympic Games 2012, held in London. Here geometry dominates: shapes perfectly suited for pursuit – both of one rider in pursuit of the other, and of each in pursuit of Olympic gold. The modern streamline helmets reflect shapes used by artists such as Cyril Power and Sybil Andrews who heavily influence Paul Cleden’s works."

This style is very reminiscent of the Grosvenor School artists like Cyril Power whose work has influenced the work of Paul Cleden."

"Batterie De Cuisine By Lucienne Day"
"Lucienne Day was a prolific twentieth century textile designer, who revitalised post-war British homes with her vibrant patterns and designs. Her work is bold, fresh and vibrant, incorporating Edwardian style flora and fauna, as well as graphic shapes with an early modernist flavour, which still look as stylish today as when they were first produced. ‘Batterie de Cuisine’ combines graphic design with tactile art. The print - which uses a kitchen-towel design that Day produced for Thomas Somerset in the 1960s - is a triumph of colour and composition. Day uses vertical stripes of bright colour - turquoise and lime green - against stark monochrome. Amongst the bands of colour, Day has placed silhouettes and negatives of kitchenware - pots and pans, sieves and spoons - in an ordered pattern, creating a bold style with the inimitable retro flavour of the 1960s."
