| "With IceBand® knee bandage, the patient can, at home, obtain safe and effective cooling and compression therapy during the entire rehabilitation period. The need for painkillers will be reduced. For hygienic reasons, use the bandage as a personal aid. IceBand® can also be used for acute injuries; for this purpose, the bandage is designed to provide sufficient compression treatment via broad and easily adjusted Velcro bands. The risks for side effects are very low (see below). The protective non woven fabric eliminates the risk for frost bite and enables maximum use of the cooling effect. All patients benefit from IceBand®, some during the acute inflammatory phase and others during the full post operative rehabilitation period. IceBand® is the safe, simple and efficient way to faster first aid rehabilitation and postoperative pain relief, using pure water and PCE™ technology. Cold compression dressing is an important part of postoperative rehabilitation and pain relief . Cooling has a hypo metabolic, analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect . In combination with compression therapy, this leads to less swelling, less tissue damage and a quicker rehabilitation. During the acute inflammatory phase, the first 72 hours, and during the reparative phase, 72 hours to 6 weeks after injury/surgery cooling has a positive effect. The most efficient cooling agent is ice. To have a noticeable effect, cooling therapy should last at least 20 minutes. For optimal effect it is recommended that each period of cold therapy should last for approximately 60 minutes."

Apply the IceBand® to the shoulder and tighten the Velcro firmly around the arm. Then pull the elastic strap around the chest and fasten it onto the front flap. To obtain maximum compression and cooling effect, the IceBand® bandage assembly should fit as tightly as possible without being uncomfortable."
