| Side Release Buckle Belt made with 1 inch Polyester Webbing. Polyester webbing 1 inch has a breaking strength of 3800 pounds with a thickness of 0.060 of an inch. Metal and Plastic Side Release Buckles are not rated.These 1" polyester webbing side release buckles are some of our most popular items. When combined with strapworks' Flat Nylon, Heavyweight, Lightweight Polypropylene, Polyester, or Patterned Polyester webbing, you get a versatile Side Release Buckle Belt that are suitable for a wide range of applications. They are available in the following buckle styles: Plastic Black single Adjust 1 inch, Plastic White Single Adjust 1 inch, Plastic Black Contoured Single Adjust 1 inch, Reflective Amber, Reflective Diamond, Ruby, Aluminum 1 inch, and Metal/Plastic Hybrid 1 inch. These can also double as a quick tie-down strap or lashing in a pinch. These belts are also Airport/Metal Detector Safe depending on the type of buckle you choose.If used other than belts, keep in mind the characteristics of the different types of webbing. Side Release Buckle Belts made with polyester webbing has the same attributes and characteristics as patterned polyester. Strapworks' polyester webbing is also sublimated, but is sublimated in solid colors. Polyester has all of the benefits of Flat Nylon, high breaking strength, high abrasion resistance, soft, smooth, and shiny. It also has the benefits of polypropylene, low water absorption, high UV protection, and it is also mildew and rot resistant. Side Release Buckle Belts made with patterned polyester webbing are perfect for heavy loads with high abrasion. Polyester has the best attributes of flat nylon (abrasion resistance) and heavyweight polypropylene (UV protection, water resistance). Strapworks "Patterned Polyester" is polyester that has been sublimated. Sublimation is a process that virtually tattoos the ink into the webbing by turning a solid ink into a permeating gas. This process is done in house and it allows for great detail and vivid custom colorfast colors. Polyester is the only material we carry that is consistent in its ability to be sublimated. Side Release Buckle Belts made with flat nylon webbing is the webbing of choice for high abrasion applications. It is not recommended for use in or around water continuously because it is less water resistant, making it susceptible to mildew and rot. Side Release Buckle Belts made with heavyweight polypropylene webbing are suitable for medium duty applications. It has excellent UV protection and does not absorb water quickly. However, polypropylene does not have good abrasion resistance, so it is not recommended for use against rough edges. Side Release Buckle Belts made with lightweight polypropylene webbing are ideally suited for outdoor light duty use. Other than breaking strength and webbing thickness, they have the same attributes as heavyweight polypropylene webbing.
