"R2TAG2 - Acid By RYCA"
"The work of RYCA has developed something of a reputation in the contemporary art world: the pop-art-meets-street-art style has established RYCA as a leading figure in the evolving street scene and a name to watch. His work frequently incorporates familiar figures from Star Wars, transplanting them into other pop-culture contexts to create an aesthetic of skewed nostalgia which is always playful, a little ironic and oh-so spirited. ‘R2TAG2 - Acid’ was first released at the artrepublic Art Yard Sale on Sunday 5th June 2016, in which some of the biggest names in the contemporary art world came together in Brighton’s Jubilee Square, giving fans the chance to buy from the artists directly. ‘R2TAG2 - Acid’ reuses RYCA’s notorious droid-as-graffiti-artsit image, which has sold out in different incarnations time and again. For this version, RYCA has given R2-D2 free-reign against a brick wall, where the clever droid has created a great big acid smiley (actually hand finished by the artist), bleeding paint drips down the print. RYCA takes tongue-in-cheek nostalgia to a new level with ‘R2TAG2 - Acid’ to create something bright, bold and absolutely desirable."

"Doli Capax - Printers Proof #4 By Prefab77"
"Art collective Prefab77 take contemporary street art to new heights - literally. Their urban artworks to-date include awe-inspiring paste-ups in Newcastle and Brighton, each spanning the size of a three storey building. Their work relies on heavy texture, using collage techniques, thick application of gloss, and bounteous coatings of spray-paint, to create bold, busy and beautiful prints. ‘Doli Capax - Printers Proof #4’ is an experimental proof, created during the production of Prefab77’s sell-out original ‘Doli Capax'. A striking image, ‘Doli Capax - Printers Proof #4’ depicts a crowbar-wielding woman, comprised from an eccentric array of collage cuttings: her photorealist face peers out from a halo of kaleidoscopic patterns, which merge into a full-bodied, graphic dress of impressive proportion. Against a bold-red backdrop of lotus-flowers and lightning-bolts, the print is a compelling triumph of contemporary street-to-canvas aesthetics."
